We strive and aspire for our children to become happy, fulfilled and successful human beings. LiiVE’s purpose is precisely to design unforgettable learning and life experiences that will prepare your teenager to successfully face obstacles, shape his/her character, build new skills and reinforce their confidence and ability to socialize with different people from around the globe.
The LiiVE Entrepreneurship and Innovation International Summer Program, delivered in partnership with FIU School of Journalism + Communication is designed to support the exploration and discovery of your son or daughter’s vocation, passion and purpose for life, and how to channel these aspirations into the innovative design of a business and a way of living. Additionally, an important aspect of our program, is to expose participants to the experience of living and studying on campus and what college life looks like. This will definitely ease the transition from high school to university.
As a parent myself, I get you! We are always worried and concerned about the safety of our children. Our Program Coordinators and Resident Assistants (RAs) are highly skilled, trained professionals who will closely supervise all students and work with the students to enforce a safe environment and to encourage and maintain a positive experience throughout the summer.
We will make sure that your son or daughter has a feeling of independence within a controlled safe environment. At LiiVE we hope that they come to Miami, ready to embrace the FIU college experience and start a new journey into the future. You never know, the next Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk or Steve Jobs might be in your family!

In order to have the best experience it is mandatory that you as a Student observe all LiiVE policies. We have provided all documentation in the following links for your reference.
The LiiVE's Entrepreneurship & Innovation International Summer Program in partnership with FIU School of Communication + Journalism, is selective program and requires an application. To apply for the LiiVE EII Summer Program, you must be a high school student who will graduate between 2019 - 2022. You must also be fluent in written and spoken english.
No. However, attending the LiiVE EII Summer Program and performing well, will strengthen your application to any college or university. Additionally, the program offers many opportunities designed to help you navigate the college application process, gain admission to the college of your choice, and enhance your performance in a college setting.
Yes, we welcome applications from students who are being schooled at home. Adults in the student’s life, other than family, may be asked to submit a letter of recommendation. One or two letters are sufficient.
In accordance with our policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), we cannot release information such as a student’s grades or class schedule to family members or guardians. Except for information defined as “directory information,” no other information about students is released outside LiiVE or the campus—including to parents, guardians, or family members—without the student’s prior written consent, unless otherwise authorized or required by law.
We communicate by e-mail directly with prospective and current students—not with parents or other third parties. Please be sure you check email daily to ensure you receive important communications from the LiiVE EII Summer Program.
The LiiVE EII Summer Program is a college-level program for high school students, so we treat our students like college students. We expect them to assume responsibility for themselves. They must manage their own schedule of sleep, study, and extracurricular activities. In the dorms, there is no “lights out” or “bed check.” Though the younger students (those who will be juniors next fall) have an in-the-dorm curfew, the older students do not.
This may be the first time you have experienced this level of self-responsibility. And we understand that it may take some adjustment. Still, we expect our students to be mature enough to attend all their class meetings, to do the academic work required of them, and to abide by the rules and policies.
LiiVE and FIU take safety and security seriously and offers many services, tools, policies, and procedures to help maintain a safe environment on campus. The LiiVE EII Summer Program staff is always available for our students. If you have a problem or complaint, or if you ever feel unsafe, we offer many avenues of assistance and support.
Students can reach out to the LiiVE EII Summer Program Director at any time. He and LiiVE staff will be on site and ready to talk with them about absolutely anything.
In an emergency, or after hours and on weekends and holidays, students can call the FIU Police (FIUPD), the program Director or visit University Health Services (UHS) After-Hours Urgent Care. The police and health services are available to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
You should read the LiiVE Student Responsibilities and all rules and policy sections of the website, both of which outline student responsibilities in such areas as conduct, attendance, and academic integrity. LiiVE and FIU put safety first, and LiiVE EII Summer Program rules prohibiting involvement with alcohol and drugs are an important factor in our effort to provide students with a positive environment for study and growth in the summer.
This is why the program supports a strict policy when it comes to illegal substances. A student found to have attended a gathering where alcohol or other drugs are present is subject to immediate dismissal from the program. No fees are refunded to students who are required to withdraw. Students required to withdraw receive a grade of RQ for their course(s), and this disciplinary consequence is reportable on college applications.
We try hard to prevent our students from becoming involved with alcohol or drugs, yet we fond ourselves sending several students home early. Please abide by all LiiVE rules and policies, as outlined in the website.
Like college students, LiiVE EII Summer Program students are not restricted to campus and may have dinner or do other activities off campus. However, an off-campus overnight stay requires the approval of a the Program Director. Overnight stays are only permitted on Friday and Saturday nights and must be approved by parent or guardian. Requests must be submitted no later than 4 pm on the prior Wednesday.
Please understand that LiiVE cannot take responsibility for students before check in or check out. In the State of Florida, minors (below the age of 18) may not check into a hotel by themselves, and therefore do not schedule to arrive before start or to leave after the dorms close.
Students are responsible for their transportation to campus. We recommend taking a taxi cab, especially if you have heavy luggage. The cab ride costs $45 to $55 and takes 30 to 35 minutes.
More comprehensive information about arrival and directions to the check-in location for opening weekend will be posted closer to the start of the program. the campus address is the following:
FIU Main Campus
11200 SW 8th St., UT 121, Miami, FL 33199
Travel to campus should be scheduled so that LiiVE EII Summer Program students can check in during regular check-in hours. Arrival on July 7th around 3:00pm, 2019 is necessary in order to check in to the domrs.
However, we understand that delays en route may be unavoidable. In Florida, people under 18 years of age are prohibited by law from checking into a hotel unaccompanied by an adult. Therefore, LiiVE EII Summer Program students with on campus housing who arrive after check-in past 6:00pm should call the program Director. He and the LiiVE staff will try to best resolve this situation.
If a student becomes lost, he or she should call the FIU Police Department at (305) 348-5911, and explain that they are a LiiVE EII Summer Program student at FIU who needs help.
